My skills lie at the intersection of your desired Technology and Process Changes and your Team’s desires. It could be a change in Technology, Process, Culture, Location, Approach, Leadership, or Organizational Structure. Regardless, this is where you start:
Question 1) What is the vision?
Question 2) What is it that you think needs to change and why in order to meet the vision?
Question 3) Have you identified Power Users of the current process?
Question 4) Have you asked those Power Users for their pain points, suggestions, and sought their input on future process?
If no to any of these you are not ready to make a change.
Question 5) How well do you understand the psychology of social dynamics in the workplace?
Question 6) Do you understand what guides intrinsic motivation of individuals?
Question 7) Are you trying to apply ADKAR(TM) and have no idea how?
There are many methods and philosophies out there and many people saying they are change managers, agents, leaders, practitioners. Change Managers need to do more than talk about change. Great Change Managers are Project Planners, Project Managers, and Project Delivery Experts.
Question 8) Are your managers and executives aligned on vision and approach? Do they show up to meetings, are they visible, are they asking questions?
Managers are not effective unless they can work side by side their teams to help them navigate the transition from current to future state. And Sponsors are not effective if they do not understand the vision and the transition plan.
As a change strategist, I help your team evaluate, formulate and develop a Change Management Plan and as a Project Delivery Expert, I will ensure execution. I work with the sponsor, each manager, and individuals as appropriate. Ultimately, it’s your people that create organizational effectiveness leading to product innovation.
I am a Change Agent – translation: not the most popular voice in the room. I will ask you, “why?” I will challenge the team’s thinking and approaches. And I will listen, show flexibility in approach, meeting the team members where they are today, while helping them get to where they want to be tomorrow. It is not fast, it is not a quick fix. It takes thoughtful planning, stakeholder engagement, synthesis of competing ideas, and action.
Let’s talk.
